The Sangkara Atrium transforms into a vibrant gallery showcasing over 120 curated artworks by Middle and High School students.

The Sangkara International School Central Atrium has transformed into a living gallery for our 2026 Annual Student Art Exhibition, featuring the theme “Harmonizing Culture and Modernity.”

Over 120 original pieces created by Kindergarten to High School students are currently on display, spanning oil painting, mixed media sculpture, batik textile design, and digital photography.

A Celebration of Diverse Voices

Medan is celebrated for its multicultural tapestry. Students drew inspiration from the city’s rich Malay, Chinese, Batak, Indian, and Javanese heritage, reimagining historical motifs through contemporary artistic lenses.

“Art education at Sangkara encourages students to discover their authentic voice, express vulnerability, and engage thoughtfully with the community around them,” stated the Visual Arts Department Head.

The exhibition is open to parents, alumni, and invited guests through the end of the week, with guided tours led by student curators each afternoon.
